The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, successfully rescued individuals who had been deceived into traveling from Ghana with promises of employment, only to be confined in a building in Ogun State.

Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, the So-Safe Corps Commander, revealed that the corps’ operatives, acting on credible intelligence, rescued Anita Otaibu and several others who were deceived into traveling to Nigeria with promises of employment. This was disclosed in a statement by Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, Director of Information and Public Relations.

Upon arrival, they were confined to a three-bedroom apartment in Mowe’s Oke-Sioni area, opposite Comfort Zone Hotel, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, where they were being held captive, denied freedom of movement, and isolated from the outside world.

According to the statement, “On April 19, 2025, So-Safe Corps operatives received crucial information about the victims’ whereabouts, prompting the Owode-Egba Zonal Command, under the leadership of Assistant Commander Rasaki Jimoh, to swiftly intervene”.

Commander Ganzallo stated that, a joint operation between the So-Safe Corps and the Nigeria Police Force’s Redeemed Division was conducted on April 20, 2025, at around 10:00 a.m, resulting in the successful rescue of the victims from the premises. During the operation, suspects believed to be connected to the crime were also arrested

The operation rescued ten individuals, comprising three females and seven males. Notably, among those rescued was a Nigerian man who had been working as the building’s security guard. The rescue operation apprehended the following individuals:

Yusuf Kasim (27),
Ogunle Damola (32),
Gift Dzakpasu (21),
Susana Ampons (35),
and Anita Otaibu.

The statement concluded that all ten rescued individuals were subsequently transferred to the Nigeria Police Force’s Redeemed Divisional Headquarters for additional investigation and potential prosecution.
