Muazu Mohammed (psc+) has taken the reins as the new Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Ports Command, reporting for duty at the Command headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He succeeds Jimoh Moshood, who has been reassigned to lead the Lagos State Command as Commissioner of Police.

Mohammed has made history as the 15th Commissioner of Police to serve the Eastern Ports Command since its inception. Prior to his new role, he held the position of Director of Central Planning and Training Unit (CPTU) at the prestigious Police Staff College in Jos, Plateau State.

CP Muazu boasts an impressive educational background, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Education (BA.Ed), Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGD PA), Master of Public Administration (MPA), and a certificate from the Basic Unit Investigation Course (BUIC) at the prestigious Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto, Sokoto State, Nigeria.

Upon arrival, CP Muazu shared his vision with reporters, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing security at the Eastern Ports Command. This command encompasses several key ports, including Warri Port in Delta State, Port Harcourt River Port, Onne Port in Rivers State, and Calabar Port in Cross Rivers State. CP Muazu’s primary mission is to improve the overall security situation within these critical areas.

The Commissioner of Police outlined an ambitious goal for the Eastern Ports Command: to establish it as a premier destination for secure business operations in Nigeria. To achieve this vision, he emphasized the need for collaboration among all stakeholders, stressing that their collective cooperation is crucial for effective implementation.

CP Muazu boasts an impressive career portfolio, having worked across all six geopolitical zones in Nigeria. Notably, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations at the Rivers State Police Command. On a personal note, CP Muazu is happily married with children.
