CP Moshood Jimoh, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State recently convened a strategic meeting with tactical commanders to bolster security measures and implement effective crime-reduction strategies in the state. This high-level gathering aimed to foster seamless collaboration and coordination among law enforcement agencies, a crucial step in combating crime.

The meeting was part of CP Jimoh’s intensified efforts to reduce crime rates and create a safer community. By bringing together key stakeholders, CP Jimoh sought to brainstorm innovative solutions to tackle the root causes of crime and develop proactive measures to prevent it.

The ultimate goal of this initiative is to drastically reduce crime rates, ensuring a secure and peaceful environment for all citizens. With CP Jimoh at the helm, the police force is poised to make significant strides in enhancing public safety and trust.

According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, the meeting’s primary objective is to reinforce Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun’s directives aimed at curbing crime in Lagos State. This initiative is part of the police’s strategic efforts to enhance public safety and combat criminal activities in the state.

The Commissioner of Police emphasized the importance of upholding human rights, cautioning commanders to ensure that the rights of all Nigerians are respected at all times. Any officer found violating these rights will face consequences in line with police regulations and the laws of the land.

CP Jimoh further stressed that suspects must be treated with dignity and respect, adopting a zero-tolerance stance against any form of maltreatment or abuse in detention. He instructed officers in charge of detention facilities to strictly adhere to police protocols regarding suspect care and custody.

Additionally, CP Jimoh directed that suspects be promptly charged to court within the legally stipulated timeframe, ensuring that justice is served in a timely manner. This move aims to promote a culture of respect for human rights and uphold the rule of law.

The Commissioner is charging the tactical commanders to be more proactive in their approach to combating crime.With the Commissioner’s renewed focus on reducing crime. The meeting is coming less than a week into the resumption of CP Olohundare Jimoh on Tuesday February 18, 2025 as 41st Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command and in line with his maiden speech wherein he assured the government and people of Lagos State of his determined resolve to ensure optimum Police service delivery for the safety, protection and security of all Lagosian.
