The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Officers once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to public safety in an extraordinary rescue effort. A private white bus, registration RBC 945 TT, suffered a critical brake failure while traveling at high speed, leading to a violent collision with the central road median near Area B, at the intersection with Point Road, Apapa.

In a statement by Mr Adebayo Taofiq Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, said LASTMA personnel stationed nearby acted with exceptional speed and efficiency, reaching the accident site immediately to render aid.
The Officers bravely rescued the injured driver from the wreckage, providing preliminary assistance and stabilizing him until further help arrived. The quick-thinking response not only saved the driver’s life but also prevented further disruption on the busy Apapa route.

After successfully extricating the driver, LASTMA Officers transferred him into the care of the Area B Police Officers, who promptly conveyed him to the Apapa General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The incident underscores LASTMA’s dedication to maintaining public safety and handling emergency situations with professionalism and care.
