The Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Oladele Bamidele Oluwashola stands as a shining example of dedication, professionalism, and resilience in the Nigeria Police Force.

Born in the 1970s to the esteemed family of Late Rtd Colonel Peter and Chief (Mrs) Elizabeth Akintomide from Emure, Ekiti State, Nigeria, ACP Oladele is the eldest of seven siblings. Her parents instilled in her a deep appreciation for the value of education and integrity from an early age. She began her academic journey at Methodist Nursery and Primary School before proceeding to Ansar-Ur-Deen College, Isolo, and State High School in Lagos State, where she graduated with distinction.

Determined to widen her academic and professional horizons ACP Oladele pursued higher education at Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, where she earned her First and Second Degrees in Sociology and Psychology, respectively.
She later added a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration to her impressive academic credentials.

In 2002, ACP Oladele’s ambition to serve her nation propelled her into the law enforcement profession, where she was enlisted as a Cadet ASP under Course 21 of the Nigeria Police Force. Her career has since been marked by a series of distinguished appointments and commendations, beginning with her role as the acting Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Lamisula Division.

Subsequently, she served as the Officer in Charge of the Confidential and Secret Office in Borno State Command.
ACP Oladele’s professional trajectory continued to ascend as a Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) at Ebute-Ero, Lagos, and she was also at the CP Monitoring Unit. Her expertise in handling complex cases led to her role as the 2ic-CP Anti-Vice, Lagos State Command, and later as Officer in Charge of the Anti-Fraud Section, Surveillance Section, and Economic and Financial Crimes Section under Zone 2 Command.

Her tenure has not only been defined by her administrative acumen but also by her strategic proficiency in combating crime. She has undergone numerous local and international training programs, such as those organized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in the United States and the International Association of Women Police (IAWP). Her efforts have earned her numerous accolades and widespread recognition.

ACP Oladele is also a passionate advocate for the welfare of children. An avid reader and a writer, she enjoys expressing her thoughts and experiences through writing. she frequently travels, gaining new perspectives and experiences that enrich her professional and personal life.
As a devoted wife and mother, she balances her demanding career with her family commitments, embodying grace, strength, and perseverance in all her endeavors.

In a historic milestone, ACP Oladele recently became the first female Area Commander at Sango Ota, Ogun State. Her exemplary performance and dedication were recognized on September 25th, 2024, when she was the only female officer decorated by AIG Zone 2, AIG Adegoke Fayoade.

This significant achievement underscores her influence and impact within the Nigeria Police Force and beyond.

As she assumed office as the first female area commander of Sango Police Area Command on the 1st of October 2024, ACP Oladele commends the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for his progressive approach to gender equality in policing, emphasizing that capability and integrity should be the primary criteria for leadership in law enforcement.
