POLICE DEBUNK RAMPANT ACTIVITIES OF DRUG DEALERS AND OTHER CLAIMS IN OJO AREA OF LAGOS.

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, Ojo Divisional Police Headquarters has debunked claims of indiscriminate arrests of motorcycle (Okada), rampant activities of drug dealers, allegations of favoritism, negligence of drug-related crimes.

This is coming following a recent article by one unscrupulous elements named Ogne Dipo Dipo on social media that there was rampant activities of drugs dealers in the area. Claims raised by the faceless writer are unfounded and misleading. Such assertions could be described as baseless and the handiwork of mischief makers to achieve their selfish interests in the State. Members of the General public do not buy his obvious “tissue of lies” as the truth.

At the Contrary, the residents stated that Ojo locality has been peaceful and the crime aspect has reduced drastically, the Nigeria Police Force, including the officers at Ojo Divisional Headquarters, have continuously and diligently working onwards in eradicating of all forms of criminal activities within their community. They have not relented in thier efforts to uphold the law, maintain public order, and safeguard the lives and properties of all residents.

 

 

The officers are committed to combating all types of illegal activities, including the apprehension of drug dealers operating within their Area of Responsibility.

One of the residents, a Keke Napep rider who spoke to our correspondent said “We were surprised to see these drug dealers being apprehended by this current DPO and his men. The DPO and his men bursted some black spots in Alaba, the hideouts of these criminals and arrested some of them with dangerous drugs. With him, Ojo became calm because of their security architecture and there had been peace. He broke the jinx, he is proactive and a fearless officer”

The stakeholders in their submission stated” The issue raised by the faceless writer are blatant lies cooked up to bring down the image of the Police in Ojo and to make the authorities forget the huge breakthroughs recorded by the Ojo division under CSP Bala Umar.”

It could be recalled that the immediate past Commissioner of Police Lagos now Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 2, (AIG) Adegoke Fayoade in his determination to wipe out criminal in Lagos State at the command of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu have directed all Divisional Police officers to clamp down on motorcycle riders and rid them off the streets and highways of Lagos. According to the Police boss, the major criminal activities committed across Lagos were carried out by the Okada riders and that is the major reason why the Lagos State government banned the transportation means in the state and empowered the police to implement the law across the state.

Investigation reveals that all motorcycles arrested were transferred to the Lagos state task force oshodi for further investigation as ordered by the police authorities at the headquarters.

It is important for the public to understand that the duty as law enforcement officers is enshrined in the constitution the protection of lives and properties, the preservation of public peace, and the apprehension of individuals involved in criminal activities. The content of any article, regardless of the author’s intentions, will not deter the Police from executing our responsibilities diligently.

Also, finding reveals that several arrests of persons dealing in illicit drugs within their Area of Responsibility, with most of the suspects transferred to the State Police Headquarters for further investigations.

As their efforts will remain focused on maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, addressing both minor infractions such as traffic violations by Okada riders and serious offenses such as drug trafficking.
