2023 Elections: NPF, PCRC Sagamu Area Command, Ogijo held A Day Security Summit for all stakeholders, seek for intelligence and synergy.

Ogun State Police Command, Sagamu Divisional Headquarters, Ogijo, Police Community Relation Committee, held A Day Stakeholders Security Summit on the  26th of January, 2023, at Nirvana Hotel Sagamu Road Ogijo.

This call was made by the Police to work in synergy and seek cooperation from members of the public In order to achieve breakthroughs.

CSP Enatufe Omoh, DPO Ogijo Division in his welcome address hammered on Community Policing  as a panacea to the current situation.

He asserted that the state of security in the country is alarming and that Ogijo community should not be taken with Levity adding that all hands must be on deck, speaking further, he mentioned different measures that will aid the security of community, which includes Street Gates, Street Light, Checkmate Uncompleted Building, Security Guards, Community Sensitization and so on.

According to the DPO, “this can only be achieved  with active participation  & support  by members of the community on one hand and the police on the other hand”.

The first speaker, Rtd DIG Peter Babatunde Ogunyanwo delivered a speech on the topic “Security of Lives and Properties in our Communities”.

He  said the government cannot be operated in isolation, there must be apparatus to drive government and that is why we have different ministries to take care of different aspects of life and ensure the security of lives and properties are guaranteed, that is why government across the globe have different agencies to take care of different challenges depending on the degrees in Nigeria. We have different agencies too, but for internal security, the leading agency is the Nigerian Police as established by the Constitution.

Speaking further, he enjoined the Police Force to desist from attaching more personnel to protect some individuals and neglecting vulnerable citizens, noting that the available officers are inadequate to secure everyone when we all check the percentage of the populations.

Mr. Muyideen Shele, INEC Official from Shagamu LG, emphasised on the topic, “How to Comport Ourselves Before, During, and After Election” he explained in detail on how difficult and impossible for anyone to manipulate the coming election, he however encouraged
everyone to go and get their PVCs, on the election day, go to the polling unit for accreditation at the stipulated time and get accredited, follow every of the instructions, vote when it is your turn, and never get yourself into trouble or trying to manipulate any of the commission processes.

The Area Commander Sagamu, Prince Ojugbela Adebola, on his own part, spoke on the topic, “Our Role as Good Citizen in Safeguarding Peace and Security in Our Environment”, he stated that the end SARS saga had effected a lot changes in the Police Force which had enabled the force to serve the people effectively. He however advised the youths to emulate good initiatives and shun vices that can only lead to destruction.

Also, he appealed to the PCRC not to relent in their abilities and improve their level of commitment to work with the police to ensure that lives and properties of the people are well Protected in every communities.

The Ologijo of Ogijo, HRM  Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi , Sagamu PCRC Area Command  Chairman, Deacon Kolapo Ibrahim on the topic “Protection of lives and Properties in our  Communities”. All the speakers advised Nigerians to  contribute positively to the development of the nation.

Awards were presented to eminent people that distinguished themselves  which included ACP Ademola Ojugbele.

The summit was well attended by eminent  personalities, HRM Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi Olonipekun Ikuselu 1, Ologijo of Ogijo, top-ranked PCRC members in the state and security personnel from various security bodies.
