Court remands Ice Prince at Ikoyi prison.
In the early hours of Friday, police arraigned the ‘Oleku’ singer, Panshak Zamani, aka Ice Prince, on three counts bordering on assault, obstruction and abduction of a policeman, according to Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin.
A Magistrate Court in Ajah, Lagos has ordered the remand of singer Ice Prince at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Ice Prince pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate Taiwo Oyaniyi granted him bail in the sum of N500,000. He was to also provide two sureties.
He will remain in Ikoyi prison till the perfection of his bail conditions, the magistrate ruled.
The spokeman said the singer was stopped for driving without license plates and after he agreed to go to a police station over the infringement, instead he abducted and assaulted the police officer in his car. Hundeyin also alleged that the singer threatened to throw the officer in a river.
Hundeyin stated “At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.
“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today,” said Hundeyin.
Hundeyin added, “He (Ice Prince) is facing three-count bordering on assault, obstruction and abduction. He has been arraigned.”
