FAMILIARISATION VISIT: NSCDC STATE COMMANDANT HOSTS OGUN SEMA DIRECTOR, ADVOCATES SYNERGY, COLLABORATION FOR BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY.

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant Niyi L. Ajibola, hosted the State Director, Ogun State Emergency Management Agency (OGUN-SEMA), Mr. Ige O. Olalekan, at the State Command’s Permanent Site, Owu Dekudu Village, Off Kobape Road, Abeokuta, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

The State Public Relations Officer, Dyke Ogbonanya, in a statement noted that State Commandant declared that the NSCDC in Ogun State is poised to work with all disaster response agencies, at all levels: Federal, State and Local Governments to improve on service delivery to the people.

According to him, “The people deserve to enjoy the overall benefits from the agencies and maximally too as this would improve the welfare and security of the teeming publics through collaborative efforts of these agencies”.

He also added that “The mandate of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi (PhD, mni), is to ensure every Nigerian gets the best of security and safety across the country”.

“This is the reason why these agencies were established in the first place and to this end, our services should be people-centred”, he reiterated.

In his response, the Ogun State Emergency Management Agency boss thanked the State Commandant promising to work assiduously with the Disaster Management Department of the State Command by doing due diligence and ensuring maximum cooperation amongst the two agencies.

During the visit, Mr. Ige opened up on the agency’s readiness to invite two of the State Command’s Disaster Management Department’s personnel to a retraining programme while also promising to effect that with an official invitation as soon as possible.

He also noted that all observed disaster-prone areas and dark spots being pointed out by the State Command will be addressed forthwith.
