Anti-smuggling: Customs boss Hameed Ali, Zonal Coordinator honour Comptroller Kolo and 17 other officers.
True to his promise to encourage his officers and men who performed to expectations, the Comptroller General of Customs, Col Hameed Ali (retd) had honored the Ogun State Customs Area 1 Command Comptroller, Peter Kolo, and seventeen of his galant officers.
The CGC, while honouring Comptroller Kolo said, Kolo was honored for exceptional service in the Command in which contrabands were seized with minimal casualties.
The CGC was impressed on the quantity of contraband items seized “and suppression of counter attacks by suspected armed smugglers on 6th of May, 2021”.
Kolo’s 17 officers were specifically commended for their “bravery in securing the seizures with minimal casualties”, the CGC said.
Also, the Assistant Comptroller General who is the Zonal Coordinator expressed satisfaction on the activities of Comptroller Peter Kolo.
The ACG in the commendation letter said, “ACG/Zonal Coordinator Zone A is once again impressed with your anti-smuggling performance and that of your officers and men of your Command.
“This kind of brilliant achievement in anti-smuggling activities in Ogun I Area Command can’t go unnoticed.
“It’s very impressive, as such deserves commendation. The Zonal office is very pleased with the achievement of the Command among many other excellent achievement in the short period under review.
“Consequently, exceptional officers, seventeen in number have been given a well-done letter.
“The seventeen officers were honored for their patriotic service to the nation for abiding by the national policies such that they were ready to sacrifice their lives for the economic recovery of the country.
“This is to register the Service recognition of the gallantry, dedication to duty and appreciation of remarkable contributions in carrying out anti-smuggling activities during the 2021 fiscal year in Ogun State”.
