Accident Update: Three people died, three injured,vehicles burnt as fuel tanker explodes in Abeokuta.
A fuel-laden tanker caught fire on Tuesday morning after hitting a commercial motorcycle following a brake failure along Presidential Boulevard in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The incident happened about 8.15 am, when the 33,000-litre tanker failed with petrol was coming from Sagamu while descending Kuto overhead bridge failed brake.
The accident led to fear and confusion as the incident happened near a private school and a bank building, parents were rushing to get their wards from the school.
Three people died, three reported injured and many vehicles got burnt in the explosion.
Ogun State Fire Service men were at the scene of the incident to bring down the raging fire while motorists were advised to ply alternative route.
