CELEBRATING RT.COL. SAMUEL AKANDE AT(BABA MAJOR) 75.
Rt.Col. Samuel Akande (CNC) Alias “Baba Major” An Epitome celebrated his 75th birthday on Saturday 19th of December 2020 in a grand style at his residence idimu Council Lagos.
The occasion was graced by some special guests of honour, including Deacon Moses & Deaconess Deborah Ogunwale, Dr. Blessimg Tade, Apostle J.L Gotomoni, Engineer Musa, Area Manager Ikeja Electricity distribution, Dr Akanni Abimbola and others.
The Bible reading was taken by Dr. Akanni Abimbola and melodious song ministration by the Zion voice. Exhortation was read from the book of Isiah 50 vs10 by Apostle J.L Gotomoni
Also, the Legion State secretary Mr Salami and two others testified to baba major good conduct as exemplary leader. After which there was cutting of cakes, snapping photographs and menu menu follows.
Rt. Col. Samuel Folawe Akande was born in 1945 at Afunso Compound Iree, Osun state. His parents names are Mr Amos Ogunwale Akande & Mrs Alice Olaore Ogunwale Akande. He is the first born of his mother.
Talking about his education, Akande attended Primary, Secondary modern school in Osun state from I963- 1970, he also attended typing and short hand in Lagos. He took full responsibilities of his family at early age after the sudden demise of his father.
His career, He worked at Dunlop limited from I966-1967 as grade one Clark, he joined Nigerian Army in the 1967 and served till he retired. While in Military service, he sustained serious internal and external injuries at the war front, he also attended some military courses in which he performed excellently.
After this retirement he established private business of driving school including selling of 2nd hand vehicles at Bariga, Anthony oshodi. Akande also worked as an insurance broker. He ventured into tailoring and selling of fabrics and textiles materials as well.
Rt. Col. Akande was the first training officer of Lagos State neighbouring organisation. He became chairman of Lagos State Legion in the year 2014.
Ofcourse he is married and blessed with wonderful children.
Describing Rt.Col Akande as a devoted Christian who has the interest of people especially the poor and the needy at heart. He is indeed a very hardworking, generous, a truly amazing leader, proactive, quintessential Officer, a man of dignity, sublimity, nobility, eloquence and exceptional brilliance.
